The vendors are keen gardeners, so here's their views on bee cottage and its wonderful surroundings:-
After searching the Forest of Dean area for some 4 years we finally found utopia, Bee Cottage. Just driving into the property we realized there had been nothing like it during our 4 year search. Even so as is normal, people wish to put their own stamp on their garden and during the last 11 years the whole garden has been designed with professionally designed areas such as:-
1. Himalayan Valley
5. Lake side Japanese
6. Swath of specialty Hydrangeas
7. Rhododendron Sweep using approximately 300 species
Interspersed around the garden are:-
• rare oaks from around the world
• approximately 80 Acer species
• Camellias flowering from December to July
• There are other rare plants though out the garden - too many to list.
So, apart from the glorious gardens, what else does the property offer?
Originally built over 200 years ago, the cottage was re-imagined, re-built and extended between 1984 and 1994, becoming a Swedish executive style home that makes the most of its fairly secluded and beautiful location. There is a pond and streams running down into the valley where the property sits from surrounding woodland hills that provides the cottage and its complimentary two bedroom annexe with its very own private water supply. Oh, and if you enjoy music then it has a superb sound system that allows the tunes of your choice to reverberate around virtually the whole cottage - be it Bach, The Beatles or even Beiber!
